Thesiger's Journeys in Arabia - Yemen, 1946

In October 1946, Wilfred Thesiger made a short visit to the city of Aden. The photographs in this series were probably taken at Aden's Al Ma'ala Harbour. Illustrating the everyday life of the city's shipping centre, this series focuses on beached sambuks on the shoreline, portraits of fishermen and views of dhows under repair.
